The country around Moab Utah is extraordinarily unique and stunningly beautiful. Nestled between Canyonlands National Park and Arches National Park, Moab is the perfect staging ground for a week of photographing the natural wonders throughout the region.

Our local guide, Chris Conrad, has helped us put together a top notch experience that focuses on unique and out of the way locales that are often only accessible by 4x4. He is a 20 year local and has a passion for the great outdoors, photography, and adventure. Our goal is to emphasize the diversity and splendor of the region surrounding Moab and to help our clients get stellar photographs, so check out the details below.

Day 2 - monday may 22, 2017

Early this morning we depart for sunrise at Arches National Park. We capture the rising sun at Courthouse Towers and early morning light around the Park Avenue formations. This rounds out the first part of our shooting day. During the afternoon, we can review and edit some of our shots, and begin refining our goals. During the late afternoon we will depart for a quick trip towards the LaSal Mountains and Mystery Mesa.

Day 3 - tuesday may 23, 2017

Today we embark on an all day boat trip down river to the confluence of the Green and Colorado rivers. This trip will provide us with many opportunities for exploring the river and we might even find hidden waterfalls along the way. After the full day in the boat, we take the evening to explore Fossil Point, an area rich in prehistoric relics.

Day 4 - WEDNESDAY may 24, 2017

With an open morning, we gear up for a full afternoon and evening of photography around Dead Horse Point State Park. Tonight we spend time in Mongolian style yurts and have ideal conditions for photographing the Milky Way, star trails, and painting with light. The yurts are located in the high desert with no light pollution and on this day we have no moon, so overall illumination levels are as dark as possible. This will provide fantastic opportunity for creating stunning images of the Milky Way.

Day 5 - thursday may 25, 2017

Sunrise at Mesa Arch in Canyonlands National Park is the beginning to another great photographic experience. We spend the day looking for locations around Canyonlands and Dead Horse Point, while reserving energy for another night of photographing the Milky Way near our desert yurts.

Day 7 - saturday may 27, 2017

Morning we are leaving open so that we can either return to a favorite spot or decide to visit a new hidden gem in the surrounding country. The afternoon we can spend time editing and critiquing some of our favorite shots. On our last evening in Moab we head out to visit Arches National Park and explore some more of this fascinating park.

Day 8 - sunday, may 28, 2017

Depending on the departure times of the individuals in the group we might be able to sneak in one more sunrise shoot. This morning we will keep flexible. There is plenty to do! After an exhilarating week we say our farewells and head off to our respective destinations.
