A Matter of Craft

Craft

Back in the 90’s I was a darkroom junkie. The memories of Dektol paired with the legendary fiber based Agfa Portriga gelatin silver paper are as potent as the stop bath smell that many of us know and love. Kodak TRI-X and TMAX films lovingly hand processed using HC-110 or D-76 now sit in my digital archive-ready to be lovingly printed on the best rag papers of the 21st century. I apply that same level of commitment to your work—crafting digital prints using the best materials and processes.

Materials

We have the luxury today of working with a wider range of substrates than ever before. Sourcing these papers is one of my great joys-testing, exploring, and determining the best choice for a personal project or client is always a highlight of a collaboration. The newest printers, like the Epson Surecolor 9570 produce images that have a gamut light years beyond what was possible in the darkroom era.

According to Wilhelm-research, black and white prints made with the Epson Surecolor 9570 can last more than 400 years under glass, and color images will last more than a century without noticeable fading.
